Relationship Template with sample data in the required fields for a manual upload:
From Entity ID:
The unique identifier for each Entity/Subsidiary/Company from your ERP system on the books of the entity initiating (sending) the intercompany transaction. This ensures that each entity is included correctly for intercompany.
From Entity Functional Currency:
The primary currency in which the From Entity operates.
From Entity Account:
The unique identifier for each GL Intercompany account from your ERP system on the books of the entity initiating (sending) the intercompany transaction. This should be the Account ID only. The account description should not be included in this column.
From Account Type:
This classification is used to group similar kinds of financial transactions and balances. It defines the nature and behavior of the From Entity Account.
Valid Account Types for the Relationship Template are:
- Asset
- Equity
- Liability
- Revenue
- Expenses
- Gain
- Loss
- From Entity Account Natural Balance
Expected or normal balance of the From Entity Account. Valid inputs for Natural Balance are:
Debit
Credit
To Entity Functional Currency:
The primary currency in which the To Entity operates.
To Entity ID:

How to Use the Relationship Template
Step 1: Download the Template
- From the Intercompany tab, navigate to the 3 dots and select Upload Relationships.
- Click Download blank Relationship template to retrieve the latest version of the Relationship template.
Step 2: Populate the Template
- Open the template in Excel.
- Fill out all of the columns:
- From Entity ID
- From Entity Functional Currency
- From Entity Name
- From Entity Connection Name
- From Entity Account
- From Entity Account Type
- From Entity Account Natural Balance
- To Entity ID
- To Entity Functional Currency
- To Entity Name
- To Entity Connection Name
- To Entity Account
- To Entity Account Type
- To Entity Natural Balance
- Once the template is filled out, save it as an XLSX file.
Step 3: Upload the Template
- Go back to the Intercompany tab, navigate to the 3 dots, and select Upload Relationships.
- Click Upload File and select the Relationship Template file. It will show Completed once loaded.
- Click Process File to upload your completed template.
- If the relationship template upload is successful, the template is loaded, and the process status box will appear. If there is an issue with the relationship template upload, an error box will appear identifying the problems that need to be corrected.
Once the process refresh is complete, if you're a NetSuite customer, refresh your browser to see the results of the automated data refresh and FX translations in the matrix. If you are a manual upload customer, you will need to upload transactions.
