User question: What is the AI Variance Analysis Summary Page and what does it show me?
FloQast AI Variance Analysis opens to the Summary Page, your command center for the entire variance analysis process. The Summary Page gives you a real-time view of all your active Rule Collections, which rules have fired, and where sign-offs stand across your team.
What does the Summary Page show me?
The Summary Page is organized by Rule Collection. Each row represents a rule within a collection. Here is what each column tells you:
- Rule Collection — The grouping container the rule belongs to (e.g., Monthly Revenue Analysis).
- Rule Name — The individual rule set up to monitor a specific group.
- Material Variances — The count of variances that have exceeded your materiality threshold and require an explanation.
Note: You can customize the Summary Page by adding or removing columns using the right-side panel.
How do I drill into a rule from the Summary Page?
- On the Summary Page, locate the Rule Collection and rule you want to review.
- Beside the Rule Name (1), you can see the amount of variances triggered by that rule (2). To see which variances, click the amount and it will take you to the Material Variances page
- Once on the Material Variances page, you can use the Saved Views (3) feature by clicking the toggle located directly under Columns and Filters on the right side of the screen.
Note: A material variance is a fluctuation that has exceeded your defined materiality thresholds (dollar amount and/or percentage) and requires an explanation.
Now that you are familiar with the Summary Page, you are ready to explore the underlying building blocks of material variances. Up Next: Rules and Rule Collections Overview.
