For items paired to a Work in Progress account in the AutoRec Depreciation Module, you can reclassify them to the necessary account once they’re no longer in progress.
On the Assets tab, select the account that you paired to your Work in Progress account, tick the box next to the asset, and choose the Reclass option:
You can then select which account to reclass the asset to, enter the date of reclassification, and enter a reason before clicking the Reclass button:
The asset will then display as Disposed in the Work in Progress account and as an Addition to the account you reclassified it to:
You can now click on the asset and assign it a start date and an end date:
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why can’t I reclassify this specific asset?
A: If an asset has a start date and an end date, it can’t be reclassified. Only Work in Progress items that aren’t in service can be reclassified. Additionally, reclassification is not allowed when there is only a single asset pairing assigned in the reconciliation group.
Q: Why can’t I reclassify an asset to a specific account?
A: The account may not be part of your account group, or it might be unpaired. Please ensure that the account is part of your Fixed Asset account group and that it has been paired under the Settings slideout.
